Ep6 - Ashton Wood, Founder And CEO Of DV Safe Phone On How Your Old Mobile Phone Can Save A Life

Season #1 Episode #6

Today we hear from Ashton Wood, CEO and Founder of not for profit, DV Safe Phone.

Ashton shares the important work of DV Safe Phone, supporting victims of domestic violence.

Ashton is someone who does things differently. You’ll hear how how he became an unlikely Founder and CEO after learning how the old mobile phone handsets we have in cupboards and drawers can quite literally save a life. He also shares the lessons he learned about founding a start up, why perfectionism is a barrier to progress and how he takes care of his own mental health doing this work.

It’s an inspiring episode that gives a lot of hope about the goodness and generosity of our community to support vulnerable people who need our help, and it's comforting to hear that we can all make a difference too.

IMPORTANT :  This episode comes with a trigger warning as we discuss domestic and family violence. Please take care listening if you are sensitive to this topic.
